The Civic Center
Located between Parsons and Decaturville, the Civic Center serves the
people of Decatur County in a number of ways. 5 Ball fields are available
to the community. An outside walking track
winds around the playground area with up-to-date playground equipment. A
pavilion with a number of picnic tables is located adjacent to the
playground area.
During the winter the Civic Center is open at scheduled times for walkers
inside the building. Youth Pro Basketball for grades 3 through 8 is
available November through January. Our public swimming pool is open during the summer months of June through August.
The Civic Center is available for rent for events such as birthday
parties, family reunions, church groups, swimming parties, etc. For more

The Fairgrounds
The
Fairgrounds is where our annual Decatur County Fair and Spring Carnival is
held each year. In addition the Decatur County Saddle Club makes use of
the large riding arena available on the grounds. The Worlds Largest Coon
Hunt is a regular and brings people from all over the United States to
help support the fund raising efforts of the group. The Decatur County
Fairgrounds area is available for rent and is available for any
event requiring a large area and can easily accommodate everything from
concerts to conventions. Parking space is
plentiful as well, enough to accommodate some 1000 plus vehicles,

The Convention Center
The Decatur County
Convention Center is available for rent and has a seating
capacity of approximately 3,000. It is available for any event
requiring a large area and can easily accommodate everything from
concerts to conventions. The new, modern site
features a state of the art, 20,000 square foot convention area,
with air conditioning and heat, (ADA compliant), clean, modern
restrooms, a roomy kitchen with grills, ovens, counters, ice
machine, industrial style sinks and plentiful storage space. For

Beech Bend Campgrounds
- Located on The Tennessee River
Beech
Bend Campgrounds, which is open year round, is located five miles east of
Parsons on the beautiful Tennessee River. Beech Bend Campground is
made up of 11 acres and is a quiet place to get away from it all. There
are 56 Tent or RV lots with electricity and water and 18 tent lots without
electricity.
The Tennessee river
offers so much fun and recreation for our visitors. We are located
on the river. Launching your boat is a
snap at Beech Bend Park. We offer two separate ramps. Fishing is a great way to enjoy the day. Our
park offers both Tent and RV sites in addition to picnic facilities. For our motor home and
RV campers we have a dump station available which includes water. The roads throughout the
park are well kept and are nice and wide for the RV'er. Many of our sites offer
water and electric hookups for a small additional fee. Tent campers love our
park and will find areas devoted to tents only. Our Picnic pavilions are
kept clean and offer grills and waste receptacles. Our basketball court and
rest room facilities are also kept neat and clean. Throughout the park you

Brownsport Furnace
The
Brownsport Furnace
park offers an interpretive of an old
smelting furnace. The park is also host to Decatur County Saddle
Club Trail rides and other public use. Come and enjoy the relaxed
and peaceful outdoors at the furnace. We have areas to use for
company picnics, family outings, church outings etc. The Furnace is
rich in history, being known as both the first blast furnace in the
state as well as for being the hottest.
