The Decatur County Health Department was first established in the late
1940's and provided services from the basement of the courthouse. In 1952
the first health department building was constructed on the corner of
White Pine and Pleasant streets. In 1994 a new building was constructed at
this site.
Services available: Tobacco Use Prevention, Health Education, WIC, Family
Planning, Breast/Cervical Cancer Screening, Immunizations, Birth & Death
records, Communicable Disease screening/treatment, Children's Special
Services, Septic System permits, Restaurant/School/Daycare Inspections,
Foodborne Illness Investigations, Voter Registration.
