Mayor Broadway presents a US flag that was flown over the Capital

building in Washington DC, to the Decatur County Senior Center Staff.

On Tuesday, January 4th, 2005 County Mayor Kenneth Broadway along with staff from Congress woman Marsha Blackburn's office met with the seniors at the Decatur County Senior Citizens Center for a special Flag presentation. Mayor Broadway presented the group with a flag that was flown over the capital building in Washington DC, along with a certificate from the capital showing the authenticity of the Flag.

Pictured from left to right is Kenneth Broadway, Steve Albrooks, Randa Bresher, E. L. Taylor, Wanda Dickson, Director of the center, Ruth Perkins, and Johnny Blakley. Other officials present but not pictured were Dan Brigance, County Commissioner and Jeff Kobiske, Parks Director.

Wanda Dickson, the Director of the center expressed her thanks to the mayor for what was a long time goal now seen accomplished. County Mayor Kenneth Broadway thanked the staff and the Congress woman for the role in helping him to obtain the flag.

The flag will be on display in the main activity hall at the center for all to view.
